Subject: Needed: 25 Care packages for Iraq
Greetings, pastors and youth leaders in SoCal -- I know there's a lot already going on this season, but there's another opportunity for those interested.
There are a lot of soldiers in Iraq that recently have had their stay extended several months and now will have to be there over Christmas. My daughter, Heather, works for Starbucks, and the local district in Hemet -- all 7 stores -- has decided to ask local citizens to donate a pound of coffee for our troops. They've already collected over 50 pounds!

We'd like to personalize it, not just send it in bulk, and we'd like to send care packages along with the coffee. Is this starting to sound like a ministry of love???

For this platoon, we need another 25 sponsors. Could you be one?
Here's the sequence:

1. Get a Priority Mail Flat-Rate box from your local Post Office.

2. Fill it with toiletries, hand-warmers, handheld games or playing cards, books, magazines, CDs or DVDs, hard candy or snacks that won't spoil. A Bible or other Christian literature would be fine too.

3. Leave enough space for a pound of coffee.

4. Write a note of support and love. Include your name and address if you want a thank-you note back.

5. Write a check for $8.95 postage to the USPS, or attach $9 cash.

6. I'll collect any such boxes from you, put the coffee in it, and get it addressed and mailed.

Is this something you could forward to members in your churches, or announce somehow? We'd appreciate it!
Blessings,

Mark McCulley

Hi Everyone,

Here is probably one of the easiest ways to send a card to current soldiers serving in the military. Special thanks to Leslie Disney and Doris Lortz for keeping this idea in front of us. Wow, there are 65 cards to choose from on this site. In Step 1 there is a link that lets you see all the cards on one page. After that it lets you choose text to put in the card. How nice to be able to send a card to a soldier so easily.

Something cool that Xerox is doing for the holidays

If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! This is a great site. Please! Send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them...

Your bro and sis,

Tom and Alberta
